Maxel Karman Integrated Lever Drag System

At the heart of the Armory 35 is Maxel's patent-pending Karman System, an integrated lever drag design engineered to improve drag control while helping address spool lock.

The Karman System creates a more effective connection between the spool shaft and drag lever. When the lever is moved into the Free position, the drag plate smoothly disengages from the spool, allowing the reel to return to free spool even after sustained pressure during a fight.

This can be especially valuable when jigging around reefs, wrecks, and rocky structure where a snagged jig may require the angler to quickly reduce drag pressure.

The system also provides more precise drag adjustment and smoother lever movement, giving anglers greater control when fishing the thin-diameter braided lines commonly used for slow pitch jigging.
