The Drag Set Go Digital Drag Scale is a waterproof, rechargeable digital drag calibration tool designed to quickly and accurately set the drag on virtually any fishing reel. Whether you're targeting tuna offshore, slow pitch jigging, trolling, bottom fishing, or casting artificials, properly setting your drag is one of the most important steps before leaving the dock.

Smart LED Drag Guidance
Setting your drag couldn't be easier.
The entire housing illuminates while you're adjusting your reel:
- 🟡 Yellow – Drag is below the recommended setting.
- 🟢 Green – Drag is properly calibrated at approximately 25–33% of your line's breaking strength, the widely accepted range for maximizing fighting power while protecting your line, rod, reel, and terminal tackle.
- 🔴 Red – Drag exceeds the recommended setting and should be reduced.
The bright color indicators make it easy to see your progress even in low-light conditions or on a rocking boat.
Recommended Method for Setting Drag
For the safest and most accurate results, we recommend setting your reel's drag by connecting the fishing line directly from the reel to the Drag Set Go, without the fishing rod attached.
- Tie your fishing line directly to the integrated attachment loop on the Drag Set Go (or connect via your hook, lure, jig, or leader).
- Select the appropriate line strength or desired drag setting using the responsive touchscreen.
- Apply steady pressure while adjusting the reel's drag.
- Continue adjusting until the indicator turns green, signaling you've reached the recommended drag setting.
- Disconnect the Drag Set Go and repeat the process for your remaining reels.
While it is possible to set your drag with the rod attached, we generally do not recommend doing so. Slow pitch jigging rods, in particular, are designed to flex under very specific loading angles. Improper handling while pulling against a drag scale can place excessive stress on the blank, increasing the risk of accidental damage or breakage. Setting the drag directly from the reel is not only safer for your equipment, but also eliminates variables that can affect the accuracy of your drag calibration.
