Description
ALPS Bent Butt – Low Angle & BUB2C Editions
Precision. Compatibility. Performance.
The ALPS Bent Butt Series is engineered for anglers who demand precision alignment, rock-solid stability, and seamless interchangeability across offshore fishing setups. CNC-machined from marine-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and hard anodized for maximum corrosion resistance, these bent butts deliver uncompromising strength for deep dropping, bait fishing, trolling, and electric reel applications.
Featuring ALPS' innovative No-Spin Pinning System, the gimbal and fixed hood remain perfectly aligned under load, eliminating unwanted hood and gimbal rotation. Raised knurling on the locking nuts provides superior grip for secure reel mounting, while industry-standard ferrule and thread patterns allow compatibility with many popular rod systems.
Understanding the Angle Differences
The bend angles listed for these models are measured relative to the fishing position of the rod while it sits in the rod holder.
- The water surface (horizon) represents the X-axis (0°).
- A rod pointed straight up represents the Y-axis (90°).
Because of this, the Low Angle Edition (25°) positions the rod much closer to the water's surface, while the BUB2C Edition (70°) holds the rod significantly higher.

Available Variants
Low Angle Edition (25°)
Designed specifically for deep dropping and electric reel applications. The shallower bend keeps the rod lower to the water when fishing from a 0° rod holder, improving line angle and helping maintain a more vertical presentation when fishing deep.
Ideal for:
- Electric reel deep dropping
- Auto-jigging systems
- Bottom fishing in heavy current
- Grouper, tilefish, snapper, and other deepwater species
BUB2C Edition (70°)
The original ALPS bent butt design featuring a steeper bend that positions the rod higher above the water. This configuration is favored for traditional offshore bait fishing and trolling applications where a higher rod angle is desired.
Ideal for:
- Trolling
- Kite fishing
- Offshore bait fishing
- General-purpose bent butt applications
