Warranty Coverage
1-Year Manufacturer Defect Coverage
-
From the date of purchase, your reel is covered for 1 year against manufacturer defects.
-
During the warranty coverage timeline, as long as the damages are determined to be defect-related, Johnny Jigs will work with a trusted reel service shop to make every effort to repair the reel at no cost to the customer.
-
If repair is not possible (as determined by the reel service shop), then we will issue a replacement reel.
-
Please note: repairs or replacement decisions may take several weeks depending on the service shop’s workload at the time of inspection.
-
Customers are responsible for shipping the reel to Johnny Jigs for inspection. If the warranty claim is approved, Johnny Jigs will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement reel back to the customer.

Important Limitations
This warranty covers manufacturer defects only. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper handling, or normal wear and tear. Common examples of issues not covered include:
-
Locked Drag & Break-Offs
-
Locking down the drag when stuck on bottom and attempting to break off line can exceed the reel’s mechanical and electrical limits.
-
Always break line using a hand tool or line wrap — never the reel.
-
-
Casting Heavy Jigs
-
Casting heavy jigs (e.g., 500g) can cause the clutch to auto-engage, creating sudden shock that may damage the reel.
-
This practice is strongly discouraged and is not covered under warranty.
-
-
High-Pressure Rinsing
-
Spraying the reel with heavy water pressure may allow water into the electrical components.
-
Only rinse gently with light freshwater and follow with proper reel lubricant.
-
If Your Damage Is Not Covered
Even if your reel damage is determined to be caused by user error, we encourage you to still contact us. We can provide recommendations for trusted reel repair shops that specialize in servicing Daiwa electric reels.
Care & Responsibility
The Daiwa Seaborg series is designed for advanced jigging techniques. With proper care, these reels perform exceptionally well. However, misuse can quickly lead to failure that is not considered a manufacturer defect. Please follow the user manual and the guidelines above to maximize performance and longevity.
